SX/SXi/SXi Pro blueprinting pump

Any of you guys blueprinted your pump? im doing mine now since its apart for the winter. I can say its time consuming for sure. Hope it pays off. I have one vein done and a bit more than two hours into it lol

seems simple, its just very time consuming. Im using a die grinder with a aluminum burr for engine porting to get the most of it out then a file, sand paper and dremel tool to finish it up. I think its like 500 bucks to have someone do it. Ive read a lot of people say its not worth the money. I have the tools to do it and all winter long to finish so I figured why not. I know with my motor setup I cavitate pretty bad and though this might help a bit.

here is where Im at now, still have to finish sand some nicks out of it but you can see the before and after of the amount of material that needs to be removed.

It's worth doing yourself if you have time to kill. Don't expect miracles out of it but it will improve pump efficiency and hookup a bit.

I would have it done for 100 for sure. I spent 150 on the burrs alone. Not to mention the dremel stuff. I bought the stuff I didnt have since Ill use it eventually anyway. I think I spent 50 to have my nozzle bored.

I have had about as much performance gain by a blue printed pump as chewing bubble gum while riding. I wish you would of asked first before you spent countless hours doing this, unless you really just don't have anything to do and just wanted to grind on something heck I would have brought my lawn mower blades over. :)

He built me a 750 for dirt cheap ported bored so he told me If i ever needed blueprinting done it would be 100 then he wouldn't charge for the reduction nozzle. So the offer stil stands. I think I'm going to take him up on it!

Lou talked me into doing this. Im not expecting anything huge but every little bit helps.

I have heard from most people that it helps the hook alot and only one person out of the ten said it doesn't help that much. I hope it helps you out, So I can decide to do it!
