Is there a way to identify an SBT motor? Do they engrave it or something? I acquired a motor in a parts lot a while back and I got a bad feeling about it. I would rather know before I run it.

If it were my motor, I would tear it down to the crank right now and check the condition of the bearings. If the crank is fine then I would at least change the crank seals, they get old and brittle after time.

Sums it up. Much cheaper to do a 650 pump swap than anything else. Read through the pump swap threads to get an idea of your options.

FX-1 is lighter, shorter, narrower. In freestyle lighter is better. Shorter is definitely something that most freestyle hull builders do. Narrower, thats where it gets too squirly. A good rider can overcome that, but a SJ is much more stable so its easier for almost any freestyle move. The...

Honestly, SJs are all around better for everything, but if you can freestyle an FX-1, you're the man!! I think you should consider the pump sooner rather than later. Its going to make the biggest difference out of any other mod. Footholds and turf are a must, but if you decide to do the 650...

Maybe if you seal off the tube to make it air tight, the pressure will keep it from smooshing.

From my own experience I would tell you not to use those particular one-ways. Hope its not too late. The one's that seem to work well are the square body versions. I used one of those round ones on my sj and it leaked like crazy. Maybe I just got a bad one, dunno.
