holds were thin,, about 1/4 thick... I"ll do another layer tonight. its gonna make a lip there on the holds though... so it wont be a smooth transition from the deck into the holds.
Wammer told me the fiberglass just simply helps seal the holds.
well I have been taking my time and not working on it everyday, but I would say I pulled the mats and cleand off the glue one day. Then I cut out the hole and scooped out the foam, and test fit the holds to make sure there was enough clearnece. Then I glued in.. you gotta wait 12 hrs for glue to...
I used 12 oz cloth.
I"ll do one more layer tonight.
there is two layers on the bottom of the hold, I over lapped it with that huge sheet I layed. Should I add another sheet on the tray?
When I go to sand this I just lightly sand it smooth?
ok so I got a layer of glass down.. the fiberglass mat I used is pretty dang thick here are the specs on it.
DBM 1208 Knytex Biaxial
+/- 45degree
Contains double bias(12oz) stitched at 45degrees
along with one layer of 3/4oz mat.
Thickness: 0.037"
Anyways I hope I did it ok, I couldn't manage...
quick question, Does it matter how big the pieces of glass are?? I figured when I do between the 2 foot holds, in the tray, just to use 2 big pieces? will that work?? Or do I have to use small pieces like around the foot holds... IS it a necessity to do the area between the holds in the tray?
ya I bought the wammer cyclones and mat kit.. kinda expensive.. but I figured having the pieces pre cut, for my first time working with turf would help me out alot.
ya I know.. but our lake is so low do to no rain and last weekend it was only a high of 67 so I just dove in. Hoping to finish before this weekend to try em out!
here is my build thread.
