really you found the 48s helped top end
I find they help low end they have more available air when they engine wants to take a big gulp ie when you grab a throttle fill
To me when the engine want to inhale hard i find the big carbs hit harder more so then the little carbs
once you get the weight...
I hit the wave slow then power up the face of it , if i use my lamey it pulls on the hull so hard it makes the ski dificult to manuveour on the wave due to the torque
Yup well said
Actually i believe that free-riders aren't even after lots of power
they are after the ultimate in throttle response with a decent amount of power.
I just sold my 8mm lamey as its not needed in the surf in fact i think its almost to much and gets un controllable so i am going...
Funny that , i have found 48 novis to have awesome throttle response
So much in fact a free rider on his fully sick 5mm stroker crapped himself when he rode my ported 701 b-pipe and new style 48 novis
If you change between curves you will find your mixture requirements change, yes i have set a boat up with two curves the same and used one as a lower rev limiter to help get it off the line
I'm happy you have been able to hold that high advance up that high
I would never do it the dynamic...
thats what i put om the freeride boats i build
I dont build race boats anymore
two curves you can switch is no good as it changes the mixture requirements of the engine
I wouldnt keep the timing in for that long its a sure way to a melt down.
I always take it out about 4500-5000
after the pipe stops pulling about 7000 on a limited I start bringing the timing back in it helps them rev on.
