Well I was able to finally get my 1989 650sx to the ramp on the trailer (it was 11pm so couldn't take it for a ride) and although I had the trailer backed up pretty far, the ski was still on the bunks.
I adjusted the idle, but before I can do anymore fine tuning with the lows/highs, I chose to...
Hey mxcrazy012 yes I've rode but not since I made some carb adjustments to get rid of a low end bog. Seems like it's either hitting the rev limiter real quick or it's to lean up top now.
Temp is about 80 when it hits limiter.
I know things are different when they are out of water and there's no...
Bump..
question:
What does the rev limiter hit at on a stock 650sx?
I ask Bc when it's on the trailer, not under load, if I blip the throttle for any more than a super quick tap, it seems like it hits the rev limiter pretty quick.. is that normal? Like Bc it's a 2 stroke and it's not under...
congrats! I saw that last drifting vid. Why did you guys need to hammer out that one fender? don't remember seeing you hit anything.. I was also keeping an eye on my rambunctious 2 year old so maybe I missed a smash?
Hey guys,
just curious if anyone has a 650sx with a 38mm Keihin CDKII on it or has had one?
ive got two questions:
1- for this setup (since this model came with a 28mm) what was your baseline with your high and low speed settings? Looks like for the SKI (with the 28 on it, not the 38) the...
Hey guys,
So the ski was a restore, and everything is generally in exceptional shape. Haven't been out on the water since late September, and the system was COMPLETELY DRY. I've been starting it about once a week for about 10 seconds off the hose. Always ran fine, no issues.
Today, I started it...
I did. See my CDI thread. My one spark plug wire going into the CDI/coil pack (whatever everyone calls them) was literally hanging on by a thread. It ripped off when I was adjusting the wire keepers. Replaced it with a used one that I had JSS do their service on.
What year/make is it? An sx or...
Yea I've frequented the carnage thread on here and saw nightmares from the whole foothold debacle. Too tight and feet not coming out, too loose and falling out/away from the ski and getting clobbered, etc..
I'm obsessed with learning all I can about the sport and it looks like the Krash Design...
Oh! Do you have any other footage of your rickter flips besides the helmet cam? Was curious if you were doing the "horseshoe wake" and a "pre-burst" first... There's another thread on here where a guy finally landed his first backflip and then someone posted "iceman's" "how-to backflip" video...
Eek..30 min away can get squirrelly when u think of something on the fly that you wanna do or try when tinkering.. That's awesome though that you guys have someone who will let you use their shop. You guys have a lot going on soon with Xmas and the wedding etc.. So we won't get on your case too...
Are you kidding?! How much bigger do you guys need?!?! From the videos it looks like you guys have a classic car, a lifted jeep, a bunch of skis, a couple street bikes, a side x side.. Or two... Or three... And probably just as many flatbeds or trailers... And you still need more room!?!!
I...
Hey guys, didn't want to start an entirely new thread for one question, so I figured I'd add it here.
I tried doing some research and really didn't come up with much, except people SAYING that they have a dry pipe...
So, My ski came with a "dry pipe".... I'm new to stand ups and their...
Nice.. Bc I'll tell ya, with @chixwithtrix cam view of the tray of her ripping, definitely looks WAY faster than the 33-38 that this 650sx probably does.
I agree that I need to decide, but I'm sure once I get some more ride time in, I'll know which direction I want to head..
FYI, that 360FLY footage is AMAZING...I work in Emergency Services and we are constantly looking for ways to improve our training.. we are in the works of creating a...
yea he didn't test my "old" one and determine it was bad. it was never "tested". he just looked at the nightmare and knew it wasn't worth it.
Here are some pics of the serviced one. it was a "used, working OEM" one that he did the service to.
@tzane when you say buy new, are you referring to aftermarket coils? I was told theyre cheap made stuff and only last year or so. And I was told the reason why people would buy an aftermarket one is because they DONT make NEW/OEM NOS coils anymore...leabing you with the option of a "quality...
Nice,
Since its never been started, I'm guessing you can say that's ready to ride.
I've never owned a brand new ski, AM or OEM... So, is there an inherent risk buying a ski like that that has never been started/water tested in case something was "overlooked" on the build and the motor grenades...
Ok, so with all the consideration of having to work out little kinks such as shimming, motor mounts not being pre drilled, etc...
Does krash make a R2R footrocket/50 cal/whatever? Sort of like how you can go to blowsion and buy one of their fully built skis? Obviously you can buy someone's used...
