An engine builder is an engine builder. If they understand the effect of port timing , compression etc its not hard to do a race style or freestyle engine.
Alot of it is the same, its just the power delivery you tailor for the specific use.
Im with you ross and I build my free ride engines to...
Im not sure, utilmately the 1200 is a better platform if you were trying to build a high hp engine. So in theory it should develop more power cc for cc.
However getting parts for the 1200 would be near impossible and this alone would make me go for the 701 ( 118) center engine.
And if i was...
Dustin mustang has it right
they have a cvt so they only have to make power in one speed range or at least a very small power range
Where a pwc has to pull of the dock to top speed.
the cvt changes gear and keep the snow mobile engine at the correct rpm much like a scooter
Yes it speeds it up causing a low pressure on the jets. However the point below that would have less pressure there fore the air would go faster through the venturi as well. A bit like having a big dump of a turbo
the 760 flywheel has a small lump on the flywheel as well as the normal two large lumps so the ignition knows what cylinder is what
This is to give the retard on back cylinder. You can take it off and it will run the same curve on both cylinders. I was doing this when I was using the 760 to run...
What intake manifold are you using. I see alot of people using the 650 kawi manifold and this becomes the limiter in the flow. The end result is that it reduces the signal seen at the carb. Which requires the big jets. If you want a single carb to work( god know why you would want to) then have...
Having a restrictor on the carb like you have is going to reduce fuel pressure
You have it on the inlet side of the carb you need it on the outlet side
I run them off the carbs to a t then put a restrictor in it. the same system novi use
It was only ever put on there as a joke. I was never going to run it.
I had a whole lot of single carb conversion manifolds and the adaptor plate allowed it to be bolted on
I'm not sure if one is better or not Matt do you know?
What pitch prop did they have was the nozzle bored. How was the liner.
If you can not see how that two skis with such a huge difference between them can be used as a comparision between the benefit of a set of cases then clearly I have made...
Like i said Matt
you cant put two engines in different skis with different hull weights and different pumps, carbs, props and who knows what else and say one engine is better than the other or as good as another, Surely you can understand this ???
The one with modified 38s.
Matt if you are happy with 61x cases and believe they are as good as 62t cases all power to you. Im very happy for you.
My experience with building engines based on this platform since 1994 has left me with different view
