I have one doing the same thing. I plan on standing away all the damaged or delaminated material then overlaying it with glass or carbon reinforcement.
I think they are mostly fiberglass with carbon overlay.
I've seen carbs come loose from a long road trip, after that I am pretty anal about checking them. I go over the easy to get to stuff every couple months, the rest gets a good shake test every once and a while. I mostly just don't want to be "that guy" who gets towed in because of loose hardware.
