The backfiring may have been what killed the original bendix.

Have you inspected the teeth on your flywheel?

Not to say it won't work but consider the strength of the tabs you put on the tank along with the forces applied to 3-5 gallons of fuel sloshing around and any flex the hull might have. Even more so if you are flopping or pancaking tricks.

I forget what pitch, I can look. I have not GPS'd it but it hangs with my buddies limited SJ so I would say right around 50 and completely drama free at top speed much more so than a superjet.

I am looking for a cheap OP Vortex flame arrestor for a 44/46 for a non-jetski project. I don't know if it is going to work and don't want to spend a bunch on it. Does anyone have a very inexpensive one I can potentially cut up? It can be anything in this style (rectangular, two plate).

I liked it so much, I went ahead and bought the Kawasaki version for my other ski. I wish this one came with the matching cap.
