    900cc vs 1100cc +

A long stroke 900 is almost as expensive as a 1100 to produce. People want the most for their money. For taming a full power 1100 try backing off ignition timing and install a smaller pump nozzle. This will lower heat and rpm for improved engine life while smoothing out the power delivery for surf.

    650/X-2 650sx - can't keep it cool

How can it have a cooling problem? Kawi 650s are the coolest skis ever.

    Freestyle Set-back vs non set-back

12 vane stators use shorter blades than stock 6 vane stators. Since they are made to mount in existing hulls, we end up with extra space inside the pump that holds more air. It is this trapped air that expands and blows water out of both ends whenever the inlet flow is interrupted which hurts...

    Impeller to stator vane clearance

Bend the leading edge down a little, it will run a lot smoother. I never found impeller/stator clearance to make much difference, nozzle size and blade angle are huge by comparrison.

    Impeller to stator vane clearance

Do you have a cambered impeller or straight pitch? A straight pitch behind a 750 will vibrate a lot at low speeds so use a good grate. The blade to stator distance gets too much attention considering what it does for performance.

    Thrust 50mm ez flow carbs

Wow, that means my 200HP 1100 will make 230HP!!!

    Midshaft / Pump install ???

Make sure the shaft tunnel is clean, they tend to hold sand, it will get on the splines and ruin the mid shaft.

    61X/62T bored to 760

The case will be a deal breaker for most. If all the parts are very low time, it is worth keeping.

    Timing advance

It will run better, but you will also burn a piston sooner or later so leave ignition timing stock.

Freestyle Bun hull build (maxx hull)

A larger pump has higher flow capacity, this is more efficient for making thrust at lower speeds than increasing pressure. Plus it allows lower blade angles for a given load which improves hookup over a smaller pump with steeper blades. Hub diameters also need to grow but Skat will wait until...

Free ride vs freestyle vs race engine

It is easy to make great power with that timing. For smaller engines, getting good response with pump gas and stock ignitions can be very challenging. I always end up flattening out an impeller.

    61x and 62t

It comes from Yamahas marketing department. Peak power is limited by the small 61X exhaust port. You can find magazine reviews of 95 and 96 Blasters, they have identical pumps and go the same speed despite the 96 claiming 10 more HP. 62T cases get better with mods but dont do much for stock...

All kids are idiots, except for mine.

    92&93 750sx build

You will want to get a turn plate and short pad to keep it from porpoising so much, even if the rest is stock. But first Im sure that your 22Y/O ski needs a full round of maintenance for reliability.

Power made before 4500 follows displacement very closely for a given port height. On a ski this is throttle response only. Between 20%-30% of the power and thrust comes directly from the pipe, more so with higher ports.

Super Jet ET SJ Billet BigBores

You can stick a pitot tube in the jetstream and then compare RPM and pressure with static thrust. Then do some top speed runs and formulate your own performance equivalents. The data wouldn't mean much to anyone else, but this is a cheap way to keep notes on what is actually happening. All this...

I "actually" think the large hub is displacing an air pocket and "in my opinion", water is hard to compress.

Questions on getting my prop repitched.

You can bend the old 10-18 and make it pull a lot better but it wont have the hookup that a large hub has. If you ride in anything but glass, you need a large hub impeller.
