kawis normally whine and cry cause they are not yamahas. does it sound like sandpaper sanding? that is more what impeller sounds like until it get really tight then its more of thudding bump kinda noise. you should see some hot spots where its contacting, but it might be the bearings. or...

a few posts back you were fighting cavitation- seems worth it to mention now that you found the bearing carrier was split and letting in water which was inversely sucking air into the pump. if you would like we can cut open a stock waterbox to see how its setup and then fix those other piles...

sounds good. good luck seperating that pump from the hull. seems like they 5200 them on. the manual will show you a special puller and stuff I just use a 2 x 4 and a pry bar so I don't break the hull. pm me if you get stuck.

yeah the stroker I just picked up has a mrd head that has the domes cut deeper in the head for the extra throw.
