How thick is the wear ring itself? If they bored out the pump to make the ring fit, then if you remove the ring your tolerance would be well more than 148mm. Could you chuck the pump up in a boring machine and bore it out to 148 and still have the wear ring in it.

I guess I am blind, I am not seeing a separate pressed in wear ring.

Clearance meant for everything else. Side of hull, gas tank, bed plates. And yes. The bolts!

Grind the bolts down. The put the chamber in a rotate until clearance is good all around. Watch for the bedplate. Then mark where. The bolt is and start denting the camber for clearance. I use a deadblow hammer for this. Fast small hits. Don't go "eldestructo" with your blows. Just...

Plug chop test is just part of tuning. It gets you in the ball park.

New plugs take a while to change color. Use older plugs. Also you need to ride the ski and do a full throttle run for 20 seconds or so and hit the stop button without letting off the throttle. This is the only way to accurately get a plug reading for a High Speed Setting. Tied to the dock...
