Did you put it in the water and ride it to test. This sound like a tuning issue. Off throttle and back on........... bog.

are you riding around doing wheelies with the trim pulled? If so you could be sucking exhaust into the pump causing it to cavitate. Otherwise, Pulling trim is not going to cause the motor to bog.

Peter Waldron had a HE2, He sold it and I think went back to a DVX, Just did not work for him......... But this is a preference thing....... Try to find some to test ride to see.

You have to pull the flywheel to see the timing marks on the stator....... You need to pull it to see if the flywheel key has sheared. If so, you will have spark, just at the wrong time and also "Boom" backfires due to igniting the fuel charge at the wrong time with the ports open...
