New Ready to Run LSP S1 Hull

Most of my engines cost more than the entire ski would sell for. If my thinking was like the average consumer then I would have been forced out of the hobby 20 years ago. Like 95% of all jetski owners have!

New Ready to Run LSP S1 Hull

Anyone whos had skis knows that placing an open flame arrestor next to a lip like that will funnel water directly into the carb whenever it is rolled on that side. I hope they dont use SBT as an engine source, what makes the yamaha great is its OEM crank.. Plus all the sharp edges are just...

Maximizing Velocity in Two-Stroke Engine Intake Manifolds: Why Speed Beats Volume

Consumers would have to make sense of port heights and tuned pipes before they could get much useful information from a dyno chart. I dont think this group is that sophisticated. Its like mixing letters with numbers, not many want to understand it.

Is the sport / market declining?

A lot of noise reduction can be achieved if riders actually wanted it. With so many new parts for sale listings, it appears the sport is in decline!

If its too noisy then its your fault for making it so. A two stroke with a tuned pipe can make full power and be quieter than the pump. Electric vehicles are easy, they have been for over 20 years. Just find a battery that has enough energy to run a ski for more than a few minutes.

    Best Ride Plate for the 2008+ (e.g. 2019) 2-Stroke Super Jet ?

All a ride plate can do is add or subtract lift at the rear, and it can only add directional stability over stock if it has scallops or skegs. Old Superjets turn flat and are easy to ride with lots of nozzle angle and a flat plate. A 750sx turns on edge and is easier to control leaned over with...

Is the sport / market declining?

Old guys pay a lot for bikes and cars, boats have largely been abandoned. Used OEM cases and cylinders are still cheap although fewer of them are in good condition. New cranks are expensive but that is a must have item as far as i am concerned. I dont trust aftermarket cranks yet. Electrics...

Is the sport / market declining?

Both sides will lie to you as look at you. Last time I voted for a president, he won! Then he appointed a new FAA administrator who quickly granted over 200 new foreign repair station certificates. Many in Mexico and South America. All the airlines sent their heavy maintenance out of the...

Is the sport / market declining?

Plus riders tend to be fickle, everything they do must be cheap and easy. A small hurdle for a few is a big fence for these guys.

Old Superjets with questionably rusty cranks need to be discounted $2000 and overhauled before they can be trusted..

Is the sport / market declining?

There is no easy financing for a turn key backflip ski. Very few people, "who aren't too old," can afford to pay that much at once. Selling it in pieces is certainly more profitable since most riders are forced to build their skis that way.

Is the sport / market declining?

When the fed was giving banks .25% loans, stock market inflation was out of sight. When they gave money to all people during covid the price of everything else went out of sight. Baby boomers were the only generation in history who "generally" had it good when they were young. A typical HS...

    Replacement CDI Identification

If you Concord 13/17 is not modified you won’t hit the rev limit of a stock 61x cdi. Changing the limit on the stock box is fairly easy provided you are good with your hands. There should be shops around that remember how to do the job.

Bilge Switch - should I switch positive or negative?

Is a chaffed wire more likely to find a positive or negative source to short against? If the entire engine and exhaust is negative I would fuse/switch the positive wire.

Maximizing Velocity in Two-Stroke Engine Intake Manifolds: Why Speed Beats Volume

The 900zxi manifold is 38mm all the way through. Big pin 750 manifolds are 40mm with a crossover tube. A stock 750 keihin carb and intake work very well but the throttle cable mount may need to be modified. Stock small pin manifolds used on the 92-95 XI are larger and ideal for 44mm carbs...

Maximizing Velocity in Two-Stroke Engine Intake Manifolds: Why Speed Beats Volume

It’s easy to fool the customer with a high port and short pipe since this will produce high hp numbers. The greatest advantage of large engines is their ability to turn large pumps. Adding volume increases thrust at a higher rate than adding pressure does. Pump load also rises more rapidly with...

Maximizing Velocity in Two-Stroke Engine Intake Manifolds: Why Speed Beats Volume

Ski engines run over peak torque rpm so the mixture would be too lean at max torque during a slow sweep. A custom dyno ignition curve would need to be developed. Plus the power at high rpm comes mainly from the pipe. Any high port engine without a pipe will be low on power. Ski engines are...
