    Rickter Back in Production 2025

There is usually someone doing something new somewhere. For all I know some unknown rider could have been rolling and flipping their 440 in the 1970s. Jeff Kantz rolled an X2 at WF in 93. Rick Roy popularized it a few years later. The freestyle industry grew quickly after that.

    Rickter Back in Production 2025

The whole aftermarket freestyle scene was built from the Superjet right after someone learned how to roll one. Overnight we needed lighter boats and larger engines so every competitor could do 100 rolls in two minutes. Then someone shortened one and did a back flip. Now we needed a short...

Is the sport / market declining?

Something sure has changed. I see later generations never playing outside and never getting their hands dirty. Both are required for an outdoor hobby. Maybe a jetski video game or simulator is the future of the sport.

    Rickter Back in Production 2025

Another problem is customers don’t know what they want. It takes a relatively large investment to make tooling. That is a big gamble. Other industries understand and appreciate aviation style composite work. They are willing to pay for that. The jet ski world wants something that looks cool and...

    FX-1 nozzle diameter

Was the Brut pump mixed flow? See if the outside diameter is larger at the trailing edge. All axial flow pumps had small hubs for a long time.

They're making the boys get their first job, at 25. Their daughters are living by themselves completely bankrolled by daddy. I know a few personally!

Other 760 Yamaha with dual 38's

I know people like to obsess over the size of their carb. Performance wise you would be better off boring your nozzle and bending your impeller to match the engine. Once that balance is found, 44s pull better than 38s, and are still easy to tune.

    Engine Symptoms

The wrist pins should fit snugly when installed in the rods. It is very easy to check with the cyl removed. If there is excessive slack at the lower rod bearing then it’s junk. Look for corrosion, it’s easy to see on the sides of the crank. That is the main killer of cranks in a stock engine...

Stalls out when on its right side.

I-body carbs are more sensitive to fuel pressure than SBNs. They are more likely to go rich when the tank gets pressurized or when it is above the carbs. Ive had others do this to some degree .

Other 760 Yamaha with dual 38's

Stock 760 44s are Mikuni SBNs. They have a longer 1.60 butterfly and only 3 pilot holes. Compared to a 1.20 plate and 4 pilot holes for aftermarket SBN44s. I have had no trouble making part throttle plenty rich using OEM 760 carbs and manifold with the crossover open. Some guys say 760 carbs are...

Maybe they will add some beef to the cylinder so we don't have to use a girdle. Not that its completely necessary with OEM cylinders.

Other 760 Yamaha with dual 38's

A pair of 38s can run much cleaner part throttle mixture than 44s and still have good response. That is the main reason for better fuel economy. I have always found 44s and larger carbs must be fourcycling more below the pipe for best response and they do make the pipe hit harder. This tends...

    LSP S1 READY TO RUN

The way a hull planes is directly related to its area, weight, and center of gravity. It’s width is closely related to how easily it can be pulled over on edge. For me, riding a hull can only reveal how much grip it has in a flat turn and how much spray in the face it makes.

Is the sport / market declining?

We need 75000-100000 watts from a battery. The dangerous li-po cells can easily deliver this much power from a 100lb battery. The problem is low run time and high cost.

Only the width of the bottom. The length is easy to judge from pictures assuming it has a Superjet driveshaft.

I was speaking of all AM hulls in general. Much like buying shoes, its nice to know what size they are.

Don’t feel bad, I’ve been trying to get hull measurements since 2007. Still waiting.
