check cooling lines, I had a ski that had a plugged line after the motor and it would heat up and act weird sorta like you are describing. but you could def tell it was hot. all else fails go back to the start. check it all from the bottom up and replace all that questionable bs on the way.

you need to make a jig if you plan to cut out the glass and install a new pump area. otherwise the pump is modded to fit the hull, you align as you normally would.
