I’ve had certain combinations of graded stainless gall with loctite. IMHO it acts more like a sealant ( to keep h2o out) and doesn’t have any lubricant qualities, especially when disassembling bolts that have been set for a while.

I ride salty (brackish) and saltier (ocean) 100% of the time, carbon hulls, and this works best for me. I slop this stuff on ss imp and shafts when I assemble. I'd stay away from anything with copper or aluminum in it.

If flat water air time = learning your first flips, go with fiberglass. If you've got unlimited funds.....carbon. You can flop fiberglass all day, easy to repair. Carbon, not so much. And when you're beginning, you're flopping. My short list would be a BOB , Phantom , or a RIP in fiberglass...

I owned a 14 XFS Carbon Look hull ( basically a fiber glass hull w/visual carbon surface layer) and it was heeeeaaavvvvyyy!!! Bare hull and hood was 130#’s. Ironically would’ve made a great surf hull.

Not familiar with the FP1, if it's lighter than the SJ go taller. My carbon Rickter FS1 ,b pipe 61x, OEM pump, 280 #'s has a hooker 9/15 and it is waaaay underpropped.

Funny you bring this up, first thing I noticed about this is how much is going on between the 10spd automatic and the auto start/stop. I hope I don't have to add batteries and starters like washer fluid. Can anyone give a LTR on the 10spd automatic?
