I got some more time in today. All the sticky goo is gone off the hull, and I got almost all the glue residue out of the tray. Tomorrow..........hood and pole.
Everything was just mocked up.....nothing really bolted solid. The terminal really was just touching, not digging into the rubber. I could find an easy 1/8" of clearance sliding the motor plate forward on the mounts. I've ordered a piece of .010" stainless shim stock to make a headpipe gasket...
Have you seen videos of the computer tech dude that keeps scammers on the line while he hacks into their computers and deletes all the files? It's great! We need whole teams of these guys intercepting scams and taking care of them in the same fashion.
I actually remember you posting that in the past. I have some nice Shark projects around (Ts1100R), but the only 640 stuff left is the larger Daytona style cast aluminum pipe. If I can hone in my TIG skills, I have a trick up my sleeve for this exhaust.
I also got the e-box relocation bracket from RCJS. Looks like it will work just fine. The starter terminal JUST touches the rubber pipe coupler but when everything is bolted during final assembly I'm sure there's at least that much play I can find in the motor plate positioning. And it seems...
And here's the 750ss manifold mocked up ready for a 650 chamber.
And I mocked up the 750 convrsion plate from RCJS @john zigler so I could try out fitment.
Then set it in place to check out exhaust fit........it seems to ft fine.
Plenty of clearance with hood in place too.
And there's still...
Here is the 750ss exhaust manifold compared to a 650sx manifold. Overall size is VERY similar. I laid a straightedge across in a couple places.......the 750 manifold is actually about 1/8" slimmer than a 650 manifold.
650sx pipe vs the stock 750ss pipe. Overall length is very compareable but obviously the chamber on the 750 pipe is muh longer. Of course more cc will require more overall chamber volume. You can also see the 750 pipe has a very steep short convergent cone area. My thought on that is because...
Does anybody have any info or pics of those? I owned and did a partial restore on "Trident" picklefork sit down years ago. I saw one picture of their stand up "Typhoon". I remember it looking a lot like the Hydro Ski. I thought maybe some of you older guys might know something.
All of it! Doing a swap and dont need it. Good compression and I have a video of it running. Basically all the stock 550sx running gear ready to drop into a hull. Asking 1500.
