OK, hood has been wet sanded with 500 grit, rinsed, and then I went over the whole thing carefully with a red scotchbrite pad. We don't want any glossy surface. Ready for final painting. You can see I found a few areas where the paint was a tad thin. You can see it looks blackish.

I have a cheapo SunDolphin 10ft. I've been on the lake with 8" chop, and 2ft boat wake mixed in until we got up into the creek. Been through a couple different river floats, one has a couple pretty rough and quick sections. I've had it a few years and we're going to sell this year and buy nicer...

I got a window of low humidity (64%) this afternoon and got the first coat of white on the bottomside, pole, pole mount, and underside hood lip. This is the Pettit EZ Poxy white. It laid out pretty nice but 2nd coat I will thin a bit more or run higher air pressure. I know it can lay out a bit...

It really sucks when bubbles start popping up. Since it happened in the sun I'm betting some armor-all type substance in the past is leaching up. I did some painting today!
