you should just be able to drag the file into the box, select the output file type, select the target folder then click convert. Its pretty simple. Sorry it didnt work for you.

I like pinnacle, not sure how much it is though. I got mine free with a dazzle program that I bought. the dazzle device was 125 though, but it lets me rip anything you can plug into it onto the computer. Do a google search for free video converter. Or mp4 to wma then you will be able to do it...

I dont think movie maker recognizes mp4's, pretty sure you will either have to convert the files before importing them to movie maker or use a different editing program like pinnacle or something.
