The grease isnt on the contacts themselves, it is around the mating surfaces of the houseing and the surrounding areas around the contacts. Works very good since I only ride in salt water.

it edits in real time, you have to open the video file in crop mode and set markers at the start and end of the clip you want to add, then just add it. It is a pretty complicated program but works very well once you learn it.

as said before, use dazzle. I have it and you can record anything that you can plug into it. It has svideo inputs, rca inputs, hdmi inputs and a few others. It will play through your computer and you can rip anything in the world to your hard drive.
