need help with ipod touch

Ok i gotta start this off with saying that I absolutely HATE itunes. My son has an ipod touch, and a buddy of mine gave me one because he bought a new one. Ill admit the touch is a pretty cool little device but im not a huge fan of the music player part of it. I like my creative better as an mp3 player but oh well, maybe ill adjust in time.

My problem is this. I have songs on my laptop and on my desktop. i have itunes on both. I authorized both computers for the ipods. if I put songs from the laptop onto it, why cant I later plug it into the desktop and add songs without losing the songs i put on it from the laptop?

can I lose itunes altogether? why cant it be drag and drop like everything else in the world?

when you sync then it erases all the songs on the Ipod and replaces them... I just drag and drop inside of Itunes... pick the album you want and drag it to the "music" folder on the touch and you should be good... turn off the sync and do it all manually...

When you pull up itunes uncheck the sync music box.
