I get motivated from getting pissed off when I can't find my tools/start tripping over them. Then I know it's time to purge the shop, for my own sanity.
I hate working with black bays, hard to see into imo. I was thinking white too but I'm also worried about stains from oil/gas and what not. I might go with a tan-ish color. Something that isn't as dark but still won't show off the grease/dirt as much.
Looks good!
I got a mint condition 74 ford maverick, sometimes the thought of selling it to fund my jet ski build goes through my head. I know I would feel guilty if I got rid of it for that cause. Its not like I would make bank off it either, maybe $4500 if i'm lucky.
Jet skis are cool, but don't have...
Might have to do that @DAG. My build is on hold since I live 6 hours away from home and I don't have a break for 7 weeks or so. Never liked my roommate anyways.
Well today is the last day I was able to work on it. Won't be back home in 7 weeks. Ugh. Everything is sealed up and reinforced. Pink foam got stuffed in. Got my first base layer of glass for the tray.
I defiantly didn't get as far as I wanted to over break, but I'm not disappointed. Now...
Reinforced the rocker from the inside. It's not going anywhere. Got the holes cut for the drain tube. Fits snug, very happy with it.(will trim to closer to flush later) I still will have room to add drain plugs below. Looks like I'll still be able to use the stock exhaust tube and flange without...
Easy part is done..rivits and resin on the overlap...now to reinforce and seal.
Then the fun part of blending all the fiberglass work outside of the hull.
I'm excited too, I've never ridden an AM hull. And I've only rode this water logged sj. So this should be an insane difference.
I went one the far end with 5" because I'm cutting this up and might as well go all out. I'm a light guy around 160lbs. So I'm figuring it should be good. I just...
I got a heater, i'm able to get my work shack up to a balmy 80 degrees. Makes the fiberglass harden crazy fast compared to before. Got a couple layers on both sides, now going to get started on the nose. Less then two weeks left for break...time is going by too fast.
So the composite guy talked me into buying vinyl ester resin, after doing some research I decided I'm going back tomorrow to trade for epoxy. VE has stronger and more dangerous fumes then epoxy. That was the selling point to switch since I'm doing this in a low ventilation tent and in my parents...
