Do you have matching case halves? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

    Crank seals

Yeah sorry the 8 hours is a sunk cost at this point. You have to split the cases again or abandon ship. I can do this in an hour and a half. Shouldn't be too bad with the method I just posted Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

    Crank seals

You're going to have to redo the case gasket too. Idk what you used for that but it's gotta be semidrying gasket. I forget what I use but someone here knows what's proper Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

    Crank seals

Clean any grease and oil off the surface where the seals sit. I usually bolt it up after that. Some people use hondabond or whatever around the seals as an added measure but not necessary. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

    Crank seals

Btw instead of pulling the motor completely apart, you can take it out of the ski, turn it upside down, pull off bed plates and the bottom case half. From here you can place the Pistons at the same level on the cylinder and lift the crank out just enough to change the seals. Make sure you don't...

Pics? Do you have both seals on properly in the rear? Pitting damage to the case? Something is wrong. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Early 90s whaler motor into my 90 superjet

With the new motor, I would recommend checking the compression while you have it out, opening the electronics box to see if there is any water in it, and opening up the flywheel cover to check the condition of the stator and Bendix. Also, depending on how long your new motor has been sitting, it...

Early 90s whaler motor into my 90 superjet

Here's what you need to do with the superjet... Take out the pump, turn it to see how the bearings feel. If they are effed then replace them. Take out everything in the engine bay. Check midshaft bearings by turning and feeling any play. If it's effed then replace. Soak the entire engine bay in...

Early 90s whaler motor into my 90 superjet

Check out wamiltons YouTube guide for aligning your motor and pump. The drive shaft from the pump goes into the midshaft. It has nothing to do with the engine. So yes the driveshaft will work. And I'm running the same driveshaft on a way bigger motor and have never had an issue. Any issues with...

    Are these 90s+ superjet tubbies?

Don't quote me but I'm pretty sure the sn has the same bottom deck as a gen 1 round nose. So if they are for a superjet then yes I think they would work Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Expanding foam under tray w/ polystyrene necessary?

The 2" versa plug isn't actually a 2" drain hole.. it's like 3/4 of an inch but the unit fits in a 2" tube Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Expanding foam under tray w/ polystyrene necessary?

The versa plug max 2" for engine bay draining is the cats ass. Highly recommend. I've tried every type of scupper and it's the best IMO. The xmetal scupper caused my first ever sunk ski.... Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Expanding foam under tray w/ polystyrene necessary?

I have the micro drains on a few of my skis and tbh I don't like them. The holes seem to be way too small and I always get small chuncks of foam clogging them. The surface tension of the water also keeps the balls stuck in the closed position when it's out of the water. If I was to do it again I...

Expanding foam under tray w/ polystyrene necessary?

Doesn't need it if it's strong enough. If you're concerned after you reinforce then cut out holes in the top of the gunwale, etc and pour foam in. I never pour foam before reinforcing. Then when you're done pouring the foam you just cabisil or glass the holes closed. On my skis I don't like to...
