thinking of spliting my 96 rn water box open an removeing the baffle, good or bad idea.

Ok ive got a 96 rn, so i thought my cases were 62t, and cylinders were 61x. So today i look at the sticker on the cases by the fly wheel cover and it says 64v, and on the factory head its stamped 64u. so is this good or bad. can somebody please help me understand this.
