I’m talking about the check valves inside the carbs. The little tiny clear plastic flaps on the back of the blocks that cover the jets. Generally, you run two on a stroker motor that rattles and shakes a lot. Pop off seems reasonable. Yes, backfires can break reeds.
Is it a fresh motor? If not, check reeds. I had a rogue issue like this last year with fuel splashing out of mains. Ended up being a missing/cracked reeds. Also, make sure the check valves are doubled on the kidney block. Make sure you are using oem mikuni gaskets (aftermarket kidney block...
I was previously insured with SafeCo. They actually handled my claim for cracked hull over the summer very well. However, when I bought a new ski (DVX) they would not insure it. I suspect they won't insure these type of skis anymore, but you could try. Just don't send them the website for...
Ported how? Widening the exhaust port? Changing port timing? Art has these things pretty well dialed in. He did mention he can raise the exhaust port slightly if you want more of a race motor. I don’t think there’s much gain to be had by screwing with his porting (I did ask him about this back...
IDK what others do, but if I'm installing those type of inserts i thicken gflex a bit with some cabosil and cut a piece of carbon fiber to go over top (which always looks terrible because i have crappy sheers and need a more flexible carbon fiber for this application)
B pipes
The balloon thing that pops up and shows where your sunk ski is
Good flame arrestors that last a while (and are cheaper then SA)
Cheaper lanyard (oem Yamaha is expensive)
Cheaper high quality fuel line
Pumps are too expensive for what they are
I like buying this kinda stuff in bulk. Where do you get these or what are they called? Is this still the most popular way to attach foot straps in the tray (did it maybe 12 years ago using these)?

so I might tighten my prop up a bit. I can move it closer to the stator with more cutback (will throw it on the lathe) or I can repitch slightly. I know both methods can “tighten” a “loose” prop but there must be slightly different things that will happen between these two methods, right? I’m...
Electric jet ski has always been my dream since I got into this. There’s so many advantages and I’d spend the money to R&D one in my own ski but I don’t have a good grasp on what size motors it’s going to take to match the abilities of a 1200. Anybody an expert there? Also, you can pretty much...
I’m 5 10 and 215lbs. I rode Anyzeski’s ninja this week and it felt more stable then my DVX which was surprising. It recovered way better as well. I don’t think u can go wrong with that ski honestly.
I’d personally like to go the opposite direction and figure out a way to machine 2 “lumps” in the MSD flywheel and mount a stock pickup somewhere for use with MSD flywheel. The fewer MSD components the better imho.
Is that the ski Johnny leftly flipped in the pool? Looks like a really nice combo! I miss my havoc - I could get massive air on the havoc. Keep us updated!
You just need a gp800 front cover. Cut the mounts, unnecessary bracing and bottom bolt hole off and you are good to go. It plugs right into the zeel. Same static angle even. It’s an oring cover from the factory by the way. 760 or 800 flywheels work. Obviously your choice on lightening, magnet...
If you are speaking with him, you might wanna throw out the idea of Bluetooth connectivity. Even with tinned wire the exposed programming port is super vulnerable to water. I guess you’d need an on off switch if it was BT though (constant power draw). Maybe just use a simpler programming...
