    Missing carb screw, what next!?

i still haven't found the screw either. i can't see it in the cases, but i haven't taken them apart (and reaaaaally don't want to) if it messed up the top of the piston like that it probably just went out the exhaust right? also, how do i know if it's too bad for just a hone? it's already...

    Missing carb screw, what next!?

well i took off my flame arrestors today to find that my throttle plate is missing a screw :banghead: i know it was there before so there's only one place it could've gone. i took off the intake to see if it got caught up in the reeds, but there's nothing there. compression is still good...

    Dual 44 Mikuni observations

is it okay if the hole is on the top, or does it have to be close to the bottom? i don't really know how the diaphram thingy works so i'm not sure.

    Dual 44 Mikuni observations

holy freaking crap i've never checked that either, and my diaphram plates DO rub on my exhaust. i'm gonna have to get out the drill tomorrow.

    Another dual 44's tuning question

i've got a 2.3 ns and 115g spring, but i don't have a popoff gauge so i'm not sure the actual numbers. the mikuni manual estimates it at 20-22 psi. i'm thinking that your right and the new ns may fix it.

    Another dual 44's tuning question

ok i'm definately having some sort of issue, maybe related to the ns. every time i land from a couple feet up, whether it be 'pancaked', on the nose, or on the side, it acts like it just swallowed a huge gulp of water. i have to floor it for like 10 seconds to get it to clear out. i'm still...

    Another dual 44's tuning question

    i've got a 115g spring in right now, with 120 p's and 115 m's.

    Another dual 44's tuning question

well i wasn't driving fast when it fouled because it was so rough, i was mostly just hitting waves and thrashin it around and stuff. i do think my high ends are what ultimately caused the foul, but the ns does need to go down too because it was acting almost like it was flooded every time i...

    Another dual 44's tuning question

well i fouled a plug today (brand new plug as of 2 weeks ago) so i'm definately excessively rich. since i'm at a 2.3 ns and 115g spring, i'm gonna drop it down to a 2.0 and a 95g spring, should i just start with that or should i take the pilot jet down a size too?

    Another dual 44's tuning question

no i never opened up the carbs again because i was able to get them goin pretty good with just the adjustment screws. i didn't know it was starting so bad until just yesterday, because it only starts bad when it's cold. when i was taking the primer off, i capped off the fitting and then fuel...

    Another dual 44's tuning question

man mine is doing the exact same thing. i took it out today and just could not get it to start for the life of me. i finally just said f*** it and opened the throttle all the way up, then it started and had to 'clear out' for like 5-10 minutes, then it ran GREAT for the rest of the day. (with...

    stock hood mods??

reducing the weight will be hard, but a good mod is to block off the front intake hole and drill a new one on the back of the hood, in the same spot as the other back one but on the left.

    Another dual 44's tuning question

then what could it be? could it be running that rich? because it feels pretty good so i think i'm good, but maybe not?

    Another dual 44's tuning question

well i think i got it goin pretty good now, and i definately found the problem. i took the primer off and it made no difference, so i came back in and adjusted some screws, to find that my 2nd JSS billet turn knob has been turning but not turning the screw on the front carb :banghead: the...

    Another dual 44's tuning question

i have a question though. when setting the low speed screws to get the fastest idle, is there a way to do it with the engine running or do i have to turn the screws a tiny bit, start it, and trial and error type thing. i'd like to do it with the engine running to make it nice nd quick, but...

    Another dual 44's tuning question

no i haven't had a chance to try anything yet because i've been so busy this week. i might be able to try it this weekend, but no guarantees with the holiday n such. i know i'd have the same issues, but only having to remove one carb and adjust one screw and so on sounds very appealing.
