So fresh build I just got everything installed hooked up the battery and one click. When I press the start button now I get nothing at all! I put the voltmeter probes on the battery pressed the start button and no draw on the battery.
Then I put the negative probe on the block with positive on...
Do I try and wrap it around the top corner where I have to make the cut in order to match them up at the same time as starting from the top or can I save that for last somehow?
I have my side pieces cut and they’re ready to be glued on, however I’m struggling with the idea of how to cut the turf to its final shape once it’s on the ski. The tape lines are my desired final line and the pieces are cut a little large to be trimmed once glued on.
What’s the best method for...
I got the bearings and seals seated and in place and got the shaft to slide in place using the hot cold method, after rebuild and spinning the impeller back on I found its not hard to turn spin but you can feel the resistance of the grease. Is this normal? I fear it’ll get tighter and seize as...
As the titles says I’m looking for a reputable painter in the Atlanta area. If you know of someone I’d love to get in contact with them!
Hull is prepped and primed, It would need BC and CC sprayed. I have all the supplies needed.
TIA!
I know it’s not a stand up but the triple cylinder is favored in a lot of race skis so figured I’d ask.
I have a 2006 Kawi 900stx that is falling flat on its face at high RPM around 40mph. I just put new plugs in it BR9ES since that’s what it calls for factory.
Compression is sitting around...
Air Cap Just has a square on it so not sure what size, the needle is a 1.4. It’s a 20 year old Cheap gun that hasn’t been used until now. My graco turbine gun clogged up on me and wouldn’t spray, I couldn’t figure out what happened so I resorted to using this.
yes what @dirtyzoar said is what most likely happened. It’s my first paint job on anything ever so it’s a big learning process for me. I sanded most of it out going from 400 dry to 500 then 600 wet and it’s coming out great but poking through to the color in a few places. Would y’all get more...
I figured they would unfortunately. I don’t know what else to use in order to address those cracks. Fairing compound? Or what would you use? If I did address them would I have to reprime the surface before basecoat? I’m all out of primer as of now so I’d have to buy some more.
I kept sanding...
On my last coat of epoxy primer it now has what look like pockmarks. Before this last coat they weren’t there. My question now is I’ve sanded most of it down with 600 grit wet and they’re still slightly visible and not really noticeable by touch, with that being said will these be visible if I...
I started painting my ski this weekend and ran into a little bit of an issue. The hood has cracks in it most likely from landing upside down. It weighed almost 2x as much as it should’ve before I started working on which is why I think these happened.
I have sprayed a total of 2 coats on the...
What is the purpose of using a urethane primer over the epoxy primer? I understand the epoxy is more of a sealer, so would the urethane primer on top create a better end result or would I still achieve the same result from using just an epoxy primer?
The primer is 2 parts epoxy primer 1 part hardened, BC is 1:1 paint:reducer, CC 2:1 Hi-Gloss clear:Medium Topcoat Hardener.
1/2 Gal extra reducer if needed for CC which I’ll verify with the shop. I will look into High build Epoxy Primer
I’ve got a couple of questions for some of the guys who have painted hulls!
I attached the paint invoice of the products I plan on using. Will be getting sprayed out of a Graco bottom feed HVLP gun.
After using epoxy paint in the engine bay to give it some life this week, I’ve come to the...
@JetManiac Hi guys, I saw on a previous thread y’all have the mag pump spacer in stock? The thread was years old though. I do need a few other things if y’all could send me a message that’d be great!
Does anyone know what pistons are meant to be in an old R&D cylinder? Currently has 83mm flat top wiseco pistons but needs a bore. Could run 83.5 or 84mm anything bigger is getting too thin on the walls. What's the correct piston to be using?
