2) Those who haven't a clue so they post about it before the hull even arrives, need their hand held through...
A little update...
Had 3 1/2 years on my engine so I was getting nervous about the crank. Put a Competitive Cranks rebuild in and put my EME exhaust manifold on while it was apart. Also had power valve assemblies anodized black. Got a couple other additions to bolt on in the near future too...
Well since this thread got bumped back up, I actually just did the first compete rebuild. I did the top end in the spring and just now put a new crank in. 3 1/2 years on the first crank and still could have gotten another season out of it!
Of note is a new EME exhaust manifold so I don't need...
I think at this point in time it all comes down to your budget. If you can afford a 155 mag, you can tune it to your 701 and then have a pump that will grow with future upgrades.
I actually make a 148 pump that runs close to the price of a Solas 144...
Boyesen intake with reeds I want gone. Will hand to someone in Daytona for $415.
I'll also take flywheels back home with me to lighten so you save some on shipping.
Apparently there were two different stators with matching flywheels. You need to use a matching pair otherwise your timing could be advanced really far or retarded. So if you buy a matching set from a running ski, you'd be good. Otherwise, just scour the microfiches looking for the same part...
