I wouldnt do it. The squish band of a 650 wont line up with the top of the 701 piston so it could cause detination at the edge of the piston. It may even give u less power.

Yes what jetmaniac says is correct. Their ports are way smaller no where near big enough for a performance engine. As for their cranks and wrist pin bearings we run them with no problems but we do recommend inspecting them at around 2 years of age. As for pistons i prefer the pro X or wiseco...
If theres noise or resistance spinning the bearing you better replace it... The marks on the cases where the bearing sit are caused by the bearing vibrating or chattering in the cases. Could be caused by improper case torque or improper case boring or slightly undersized bearings.

On smaller motors with a piston size from 81mm to 83mm.
Between .025 and .045 is fine. Less than .025 its possible for the piston to hit the dome at high rpms as the cylinder wears and the piston begins to rock.
You have to be careful if your cylinder top deck has ever been surfaced you can run into squish clearance issues. If it has not been cut you can easily run the thinner gasket but .004 will not make much difference.
135 main and 75 pilot is the recommended jetting for a bpipe. And 1 turn low and 1 &1/2 turn on the high it best starting point for a nonported SJ. This is the same set up we have used hundreds of times and it always works. Fine tuning usually ends up at 3/4 turn on low and 1 &1/4 on high after...
Yes thats lean. Your pistons are almost completely black. Open the low screw to 1 turn and set the high at 1 &1/2 when you put it back together. Your jets should be at least a 75 pilot and a 135 main with a bpipe and you should have a lower popoff around 40 psi or so with prok filters. If you...
That sucks. We need to know what size jets your running to tell you where the adjustment screws need to be set but typical is 3/4 to 1 turn on bottom and 1&1/2 to 1&1/4 on top screw. You really need to run 40:1 oil mix and use a good quality oil. And a picture of the top of the pistons and the...
Its the center of the coupler. The coupler bottoms out on the washer but without the washer the midshaft bottoms out inside the coupler and as its screwed tighter it pops out the center. If ur driveshaft orings leak i would think water can get in ur hull.
A yamaha coil fires both cyl at same time so its possible to light the fuel in the cylinder that has the piston at the bottom exposing the intake ports and therfore it flashes back in the case momentarly. Typically doesnt explode just a small burn of fuel. Incorrect timing advance or retard can...
The Porting of course...... thats why i port them the way i do..... But in all seriousness the smaller pitch prop does help the engine get on the powerband quicker and the big hub helps increase the pressure as the water is forced from the leading edge to the trailing edge of the prop all so it...
190 does sound huge. My 900cc had dual 46 with
2.3 needle and seat with
110 main and 125 pilot and returns not drilled out and it was always a little rich. He is using 2.5 needle and seat but still sounds like too much. You mentioned when u prime and start it that it revs super high due to all...
