The carb is a 46grs and the exhaust is a pjs 650 pipe. TONS of low end grunt! Way too much for the hull it's in. This motor is ripping the hull to peaces very quickly!
Not sure why. Probly cuz kawi motors ain't worth the time to big bore them this big. the only reason I did it, is cuz I got the cylinder with big bore sleeves in it already for free. This thing has so much low end snap it's rediculous! The motor is ported for nothing but low end power. If I had...
Yeh I missed the 650 pump part. But I'll buoy race a conversion with 650 pump with my peewee 550 pump any day! Fx1's have a hard time with my conversion! There's a difference between having control and flying on the edge of out of control!
I think I want to set the pump back a few inches. I tried a raider drive shaft and with the pump set back 3-4 inches, it's still too long about 3-4 inches. Is there a drive shaft from another ski that might be the right length to set the pump back a few inches?
So I just talked with Derek at ski clinic and he said I should put the bob foot hold kit that he made for me as far forward as I can. So that's what I'm gonna do.
Thats a dam good idea!! I appreciate the advice!! I've got a back pack loaded with 50 pounds of weight that I've been running with 5 days a week, on top of all the pushups, pullups, and situps I've been doing
I've kinda been taking it slow on this build because I'm getting myself ready for army boot camp at the same time, which is taking a lot of my time at the moment. But she is slowly but surely getting done. I'm shipping out to fort Jackson South Carolina in December.
I'm still having trouble figuring out how far forward I should move my foot hold kit. I chopped 4 inches off the back. Should I move them 4 inches forward? I'd rather not start a new thread just for this question. More opinions would be really great at this point.
Thanks again in advance!
Here's a pic of the rail around the nose. I got it trimmed down and looking sweet! Kinda reminds me of a am hull the way the rail stops on the sides of the nose.
Quick question. I'm about to start building up the tray and start the foothold install. My question is, should I move my footholds forward to compensate for the 4 inch shorter rear end? I've had a couple people say I should move them forward, but I'm not sure if I should or not.....
The 1208 and 1708 from us composites has a layer of 3/4 ounce mat that is stitched in (instead of glued together with binder) which makes it compatable with epoxy. But I still don't like it mostly because of the mat layer. Just dosent wet out as quickly as I would like it too. Theres some good...
I'm very curious to hear opinions also. In doing a quick search I found this. Us composites is where I bought my 1708 and 1208 and right at the top of the page it says it's compatible with epoxy resin.
