As high as possible with the sump exit.

A little product placement here. I found these truly one hand reusable ties. I use a Jacobs chuck from a burned up drill for hand scoring the carbon.

I used some carbon plate and a Rotoloc to make a single bolt mount. No basket to clog, if pump clogs, easy removal.

One thing I did want to fit was a sump pump. If this were a competition boat I wouldn't have bothered. I ride by myself sometimes and if that sump buys me an extra 10 seconds it was worth bringing along. The basket for this sump was 5200'd in another hull and as always, the mounting tabs broke...

At last, it's time for starting the motor install. For 62T I have a mockup motor, no sleeves in cylinder, dummy aluminum shaft, comically light. Not enough scrapped Bun's out there so I have to fit everything with the real thing. Just what I want to be doing, lifting that 85# block in and out of...

Aligned shaft and checked it with CF tool. Reusing my CF Mid Shaft housing. Feels great and turns smooth. Maybe I'll just run it...? NAH ! Let me check it. All the water that poured out convinced me I made the right call replacing all the seals and bearing. Probably should do this every season...

Back to the pump install. Opened up my 90's for max flow on the Maxx pump. Used tap AND dies to clock 90's where I wanted them. Was hoping to go short and sweet right to my cooling lines in hull but wasn't to be. Top fitting lined right up with the trim cable. good thing I have Maxx put 4...

The stuff Tony gave me came out of bulk packs, never got a brand name. Must’ve been secret spec kind of stuff, lol. This is one of the spent tubes.

Looks comparable to what Tony supplied me, 40 min work time. The stuff I had didn't have equal size tubes, it had 1 big tube and a smaller piggy back tube.

I used the EXACT stuff Tony uses, and I got it from Tony. I friggen stressed over bonding on that top deck ! The stuff Tony uses is FAST. And even with his air powered dispenser ( which he lent me ) it took 8 mins. per tube to dispense. I used 3 3/4 tubes even though Tony said 3 would do. 30...

Getting clear epoxy to look right takes a little doing, lol, to say the least. I've experimented with vacuum pots for off gassing, different temps, you name it, I tried it.

Thanks Trev ! Ask away brother ! Are you building from one of the kits ? When I got mine Tony was real reluctant to sell kits, but since then I’ve seen a couple of XI kits and M1 kits out there .

Nah Quinc, I picked up the 10/18 from a member who bought it new. I have a sneaking suspicion a lot of guys aren't running the props they think they are. That's why I bought the Watcon gauges. I now consider prop pitch the same as pop off, you gotta measure it to know what it is, lol. And even...

Before putting the pump in the hull finished installing pole. Wound up putting hoses in bracket and bottom section of pole then slipping pole tubes over breather hoses. No two poles ever go together the same way for me. Installed pole bracket, pole and breather hoses as one onto hull. Sheathed...

Gonna run the P&P Velociraptor. Had to polish it up a bit. Flatted some washers so they wouldn't gouge the nozzle.

Time for pump assembly. I run Klotz oil instead of grease. Had to make a tool to pop in prop seal, first one I couldn't' get with my fingers. And it was the fat shaft one from JetManiac.

Some pics of my rant. The leading edge pics are on 9, 10, 11 degree lines. The trailing edge pics start on the 18 degree line ( what the prop is labeled ) and are followed by the 17, 16, and 15 degree lines. All pics taken with gauges and prop on a sheet of glass on a level hardwood bench.
