I only do it for the zeeltronics TL flywheels because those are the only ones I’ve had issues with and I don’t want all that heat messing with the plastic and magnets in a charging one.
I don’t have any pictures. I tig like three dimes in two spots on opposite sides, and then cut the tops off...

Believe it’s the orientation of the magnets. Zeeltronics doesn’t care where magnets are, and charging just cares that there are magnets, not the timing of them.
Clean Yamaha 650 ebox. Ski ran before I tore it down. I did swap out the 650 coil for a 701 as the leads are longer and boots are different.
Also have the stator that came out as well. Will work with 61X flywheels. The wires are shorter than usual as this ebox was mounted next to the carbs, not...

PFM Lightened Kawasaki 550 flywheel (28 degree). This is one of the cleanest ones I’ve seen. Great taper, minimal tooth wear, no rust, tight magnets! So I thought it would be appropriate to give it a little extra love. Gear is lightened as well as the back side of the rivers to remove a total of...
I did those drilled ones for PHP, even though I didn’t really want to...
If there were balancing holes drilled in the ring gear and you matched them up where they were originally, no problem. If there weren’t any, means it was balanced well as is and you may be good.
I don’t know why, but I’ve...
Shouldn’t be a hunt. 750 flywheels are everywhere. Easier to check eBay than fabricate lobes and plates and brackets and such like you’re talking about...
The sides of the 750 don’t need to carry load of starter via ring gear to the crank, so I can make them thinner. The ring rear is also smaller on the 750, I think, so it would weigh less. It’s easy to identify the 750 flywheel you need visually. And again, how accurate is your welding going to...
