some of the people i ride buoys with said it helped them a lot and i just want to experiment with it

If it's the issue of porposing, have you cut your pole yet? I had/have a porposing issue, and when I ride a ski with a cut pole, night and day difference. I ride a square, so I'm going to a RN pole. I have my pole, so I'm just waiting for the next run of FryHazard brackets and then to find a chin pad for it.

Many racers add weight in the front for carving - the most common thing I see is gluing down some weights

Adding wieght is a race mod that was common when Super Jets ruled the race scene (Pre SXR/Hydro space). Post this in the Race section or go to the Race section at pwctoday.com, a lot of old school knowledge there.

I know that you remove the lead weight with an ax, but not sure how to install.

Inside joke - my ski had a previous life racing and had lead weights epoxied into the hull. Down at my first LSFR, RBMC removed them for me with an ax. I wasn't there at the time, but I heard it was funny as hell to watch.

Get a longer ride plate such as the R&D Rius racing plate or the Worx dominator extended if you want to keep the nose down and to help prevent porpoising at speed.

Another thing you might consider is to have the reduction nozzle taper bored with less of an angle which will create more nose pressure and improve the performance in rough water conditions. Increasing the nozzle tapered angle has the opposite effect which lightens the nose and adds top speed which is also dependant on the exit diameter. Different type nozzles such as the 6R7, 6R8 and 61X will keep the ski's nose down while the 62T, 64T, 65V & 64R nozzles will raise the nose up.

Adding weight would be the last option since it will slow down your acceleration.

Dude, you are an endless source of great information!

To the OP, if you want to get your nozzle taper bored send it to this guy. He did a beautiful job on mine. And my vote would be for the Worx Domiinator plate. I had great luck with a Worx taming the porpoising on my Kawi and that thing bounced like crazy.

Still Fat....
Rayce used to make a race weight kit
i have it in my 02 SJ and works great
i think i have the 10# kit, two heavy weights, i was ok with one weight most of the time
2 of them made subs WAY to easy and actually somewhat violent upon impact, i wouldn't do it now at my old age lol with two of them

I then went with the blowsion rear hull extenders, which basically did the same thing as add the weights, but has more of an impact on cornering, stability, etc, personally i have a VERY hard time riding a ski without them, and when people ride mine, they have a puzzled look on their face like WOW there is alot of motor but the nose stays planted, then comes the bump to the leg and WTF are these things lol, but i do warn people in advanced, especially light people

being 250#'s, and figure a good 300+ with gear on, water, etc i need the front downforce so to speak (no a gay nascar wing is not needed lol)
I also have the JD extended ride plate

If i am not mistaken when we reinforced my hull, Paul also added a small amount of weight in the nose as well
i haven't used the Rayce weights in a long time since we did the extenders and reinforcement work
i can also tell the difference when the fuel starts running down, especially when i am at the "fumes" level lol

not sure if Raymond is still making the Rayce weights, but man what a really nice design, plus you can stick the weights between the motor mounts as ballast weights too
that i did not need, nor did i try

before finding the old SN extinguisher mount, Phil and I were gonna design a fire extinguisher mount to use the Rayce bracket
