the old impeller was a bitch to remove but it finally came off. I slipped the new one on and now hard to turn (impeller and shaft) with it only hand tightened. Any Ideas on what's wrong?

I put the old impeller back on and it's hard to turn the shaft with the impeller hand tightened also.

I put both impellers on an old blaster stator and they trurn fine.

did I ruin the bearings when we heated the impeller? I'll try repaking the bearings to see if it helps.

That sounds like what happened to me and yes I either ruined my bearings or they were already shot.

I actually had to send an entire pump/prop/shaft to impros to get one prop off cuz it would just not budge!!

I had to do the same thing. Dave does a good job but doesn't remove stuck impellers for free.

it seems that the rubber seal swelled up after we heated it. the pump I was using has a rubber jacket around the washer (one of my other pumps just has a washer with no rubber), the rubber jacket was rubbing against the rubber seal and not rotating with the impeller like it think it's supposed to do. I took the ruber jacket off and it spun freely. I took the ski out afterwards and it ran great.

it was actually not that much better than what was in there. the dif was noticable but nothing like going from stocker to 13/17 concord like in my bro's ski.

I had it laying around since before lanier. it was supposed to go in my square before it was stolen.

my blaster came with one of them fancy 13/15 modded cutback dealios.. its pretty sweet... i liked it that one time i took my blaster out. :)
I've got a 12/15 cutback in a blaster pump I bought from crackrock. I'll just leave it in the pump and swap the whole thing into my blaster if I ever ride it again.

umm.. yes.. :dunno:

well, if you have a 12/15 cutback on your B1....and not quiteas good a prop on your SJ, then that could be the extra 30% of rotation you need.....

granted, i know where your SJ came from....and its most likely propped properly  BUT!

yeah, i know I know its not in the ski........BUT!

might be worth a look!
