Broken Xmetal handlepole

I'm a huge fan of the guys at x scream, but I am surprised at how many people have broke poles. That being said, I am still looking at buying one.......
My AC pole on my sn has been VERY abused for years and still held up. They just aren't as pretty as the X metal poles!

oh hell. don't bring that up...lol all the hardcore x-metal supporters will get all defensive and try to crawl up in ya about it...LOL

I really do not think it is as many as it seams. There have ben a huge number of UMI poles that have broken that nobody ever posted about.

Just going to pop a list out of my head of ones that broke that I remember.

Oh, Ratti broke one at a race but he over extended and landed upside down with it, I was 75' away when that one happened. That was abuse!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH, and I think Pete landed one it in MyrtleBeach and broke the pole. Again Abuse!

But alot of people have heard about these and the story grows.

But the biggest thing, Pat replaces or repairs each and every one. I would much rather the pole break than the bracket get ripped out of the nose. Something has to give. Call it a fuse!

I've been abusing my XMW pole for over two years now, and the one before that also for two years.

Still going strong.

If you look back at the thread for Jetmaniac, I believe he solved the problem by adding a second handpole pad or relocating the first one so the entire pole was supported on closure instead of it slamming down on a single contact point.

I found the thread but the answer isn't in there, maybe he told it to me personally...:dunno: maybe I'm on glue and the conversation never really happened at all. :ugh: getting old sucks!

I was right next to Harrison when that happened- I am amazed he didn't rip the bracket out of the hull as well.

I actually broke 3 poles in 3 weeks learning backys in the surf, the new adjustable pole was on backorder at the time.

The top piece on the nonadjustable poles is made of cast aluminum. They all seem to break in the same spot.

The new adjustable pole's top piece is made of billet aluminum and I haven't broken it yet.

There are a few different evolutions of the xmetal pole (not counting the adjustable one). They've added gussets to the casting of the top piece. I took my pole down there to have them check it out. They were talking about replacing it for me unbroken at no charge because it's an older model but ended up telling me if I have any problems with it bring it back then. For me that's not a problem, I live near by.
