how'd it stick?

Wednesday Night I was getting the ski ready to go & the front PV felt a little stiffer then the rear. I fired the ski up & it didn't move together with the rear. But after it was warm it felt better. Hit the spot on Thur morning & the ski was still hitting like a mother so I didn't think much of it. Came in for some fuel & checked out the PV & it was stuck. Called Mike at XS, came back to my shop, pulled the PV out. Didn't see anything wrong, reinstalled & its working fine.

It really makes it rip with both PV's opening together, lol.... Will post up Spot & Lake video this morning.

Sometimes oil and buildup can cause them to stick. Friend bought one of Tera Laho's Riva Pro Mod SJ's 10 years ago with a Lamey PV. Constantly had to pull them out and clean them. (every few months). Just maintenance issues.

Sometimes oil and buildup can cause them to stick. Friend bought one of Tera Laho's Riva Pro Mod SJ's 10 years ago with a Lamey PV. Constantly had to pull them out and clean them. (every few months). Just maintenance issues.

The New XS PV's are really cool, there was no build up (But the motor only has 40 gals on it so far). I just had to adjust the spring with & re assemble & now its silky smooth like the rear PV.

SUNDAY: Wind light SW early, then S/SE 5-15 mph with waves bumping up some in size to 1-1.5′ (occ 2′ mid-day) in long period E/ENE ground swell

Now that sounds like a fun batch of youngins there...I bet they get into everything!!! Hopefully I will be finally riding again in a month or two, because I would love to see that...I haven't been to the spot in a long time, and I need to head north to Jax, so it would be great to hit both places. I love taking pics of children near or on the skis...they're just so much fun.

But why did it lock up? To tight of tolerance in fit?

The valve slides nice & smooth. After talking with Mike at XS, I think the spring was causing the problem. I took it apart, rotated the spring, reassembled & went to the lake.

Yes, I run a Thrust Straight pull trim system... If the surf is small I use it, other wise you don't need it. That XS1000 helps that ski Flip without any problems, lol
