so many reasons....
- middle of the winter (off season)
- new year and people have vacation
- it's warm here
- there is nothing going on in daytona right now and they want events here
- the jet ski zone is in front of the Makai in January
- seems like a good way to kick off the year to me

i think its great. hell we are still riding here in november.

Ditto.....it sure helps make winter slip by. Ride until November-ish....spend a couple weekends freshening up your ride, thrash at Daytona for a week, bask in the glow of the freeride for a couple weeks, bum out for about 6 weeks (while easing the pain with some mountain bike rides or cold jetski rides) and then, voila.....it's spring!

come to wavedaze in oct,its great time in Va also. Tona rocks in Jan,its great to get away for the northeasters in the winter.it sucks missing the nfl playoffs but the tona 500 pretty much kills most of feb.
I really hope someone picks back up with the rager in April right before tourist season. It would be great to have 3 ocean freerides a yr.It would be almost impossible for anyone area,person,group to host twice a yr especially in summer and sustain it over the long haul. To much goes into it.

Hopefully i will finally be able to make Daytona and others and have a decent ski (or two). I have been in college (going to graduate in May) and i should have a job finalized within the week. It's really good pay but a rough schedule. I'll save up all my good favors to get time to go to Daytona.
