I cut my SN hull -3" and loved it! I did a straight cut instead of the slant though. It's not super nose happy and it only slides if I want it to. Suprisingly predictable but I'm only 165 lbs so if you're much heavier, it might be harder.

I weigh 180, so not too far off. I think I'll love it. Can't wait to get it in the water. I'm trying to ride around Thanksgiving. Should have every thing I need by next weekend.

Are you planning on bringing it home with you when you come? I'm off all next week except Wed. so I might possibly be up for a mid-day ride....

Little more progress.. Had to work all week so just got back on it yesterday. Got it all plumbed up, and installed the poly-foam. In the process of laying a couple layers of glass all the way from side to side and front to back over this to try and completely seal off the bottom deck. Next I'll do two part foam in the gunwhales and carve it out for a really wide tray, then glass over all that.
I didn't really plan for this foam to be there for support purposes, but I can stand in the try like it is, pretty damn strong stuff.
The idea is that I know for sure the through hull lines, etc will all leak sooner or later, probably sooner. Hopefully I can keep the bottom remotely dry with some drains and this non-absorbent foam, and get the gunwhale areas sealed as best I can. We'll see how it goes. Back to laying glass, more pics coming soon.

Yeah I am. Hopefully I'll be assembling in a few days, might get to ride by the weekend.

Tray sealed up. For now it has 1 layer of 120z biax, one layer of 17oz biax, and a strip of 6" 17oz biax tape around all the edges. Next I'll be foaming up the gunwhales, carving them out and glassing them up. Hope to get a good piece of that done today.

Foamed the gunwhales and got them mostly carved out, then started out footholds. Ended up getting to put quite a bit of poly foam in the gunwhales too. Glued in large pieces of it with spray adhesive, then foamed the edges and sanded. You can see the poly foam poking through in places where I went a little too far. Got one side roughed out tonight, will do the other in the morning and glass it all up. I'll be adding foam to the top of the foothold to make it wrap out over my foot good before glassing, should be very comfy. If not I'll cut it out and redo it! I think the wide tray is going to kick ass!

Thanks guys, Heading back over this morning to do the other side and a little more foaming. Hope to be riding this weekend. Of course being Thanksgiving I've got a ton of family obligations today, so hopefully I'll at least get the other side carved, and get everything ready for glassing.

Got both footholds carved out this morning, turkey time now. I'll be back at it tonight. Should be able to lay up the gunwhales/holds tonight.
So I decided to weigh it like it sits. The only thing left to do is lay the glass up on the footholds/gunwhales, and another layer or two on the tray area. As is, hull comes in at 96.2 lbs. Thats full of poly foam, all cooling lines, scupper, two part foam in a bit of the gunwhale areas, and a pump shoe. Should come in under 100 lbs all glassed up and ready for assembly.

Yeah, haven't updated in a while. Ski is in the water in the tuning stages, ripping good, should be REAL good after this weekend. I decided to go ahead and chop the nose off and redo it, it was bad. I LOVE the widened try and custom footholds, can't wait to turf.
