Rickter Fs-1 build

Got quite a bit done today. This is the easiest aftermarket hull to assemble that i've ever built. So far only the pump bolts had to be modified to fit in this hull (oem sj bolts are too long, they bottom out before holding the pump tight). Pretty good for aftermarket. All oem superjet parts fit right in with no modifying. Usually you have to grind stuff or egg a hole out or something, nothing on this one. I was just amazed.

Every thing went so well and fast together. I prolly could have got the ski running today, however Im waiting on a steering cable and i had a prop repitched by skat trak and its not back yet. I didn't want to plumb all the fuel lines, and finish the waterbox and exhaust hose routing till i get the cable, because it has to be removed to install. And of course pump area cant be finished without cable and prop. If you had this hull a rrp pole and a running donor superjet, you could build a running ski in a day.

Very little shimming was needed, just rear of the pump and everything fits so nicely.

Im running the R&D cylinder stock stroke motor with 49 full specs, boyesen intake and reeds, fpp mod pipe, ported head pipe/manifold, vilder lite charging flywheel, msd enhancer and ada kawi couplers

Pump is a 144 mag 12vein, non setback, with 12/17 prop and skatrak tilt nozzle. Jet Dynamics intake grate and rrp rideplate.

Steering is rrp pole, rrp steering and bars, umi trigger and odi grips.

I like them better, the only plastic ones i've ever broken were in blasters. IMO The j/d shoe feels like it sucks the boat down too much, makes it feel more like a closed course ski instead of freeride. I've never tried any other brand of pump shoes

Wow, that is really nice. Donor superjet, hmmmm...I can't wait to hear about what you think of how it rides :eek5: I can see me ripping that up onto my rocky beach and dragging it up onto the concrete launch now. lol

I would just like to hang out with Tom one day and play with his skis. :)

The man likes nice toys!

I have.... and I highly recommend NOT doing it! It will ruin you. I can only imagine now with this Ricker... It's bad for your ego and your wallet... :jester:

I think the inside is a bit ugly and unfinished looking. First thing monday, the specialist (chad) is going to lay the red and black carbon kevlar cloth in the engine compartment. It wont add very much weight and will really make it look better. Didnt really have time to work on it today because all the halloween activities. However i did get the new trailer wheels mounted up. Cant have pretty skis on a crappy looking trailer.

Well at least my trailer still looks nicer than yours... oh, wait, now it doesn't. :eek:uch: Where'd u get those wheels? Ebay?

Lookin good Tom (ski and trailer), as expected. Hope to check it out soon...

Little bit more was done today, (regular work keeps getting in the way). Hood seal and steering cable came in so I was able to almost fully plumb the engine compartment. Couldnt glue down hood seal yet because it was all twisted up in the packing, I need it to lay out flat for awhile for easier gluing. I'm going to fire the motor tonight if i can find a oneway valve somewhere.

My prop is being repitched at skat trak and wont be back until late next week, luckily Rmbc freeride mailed me a prop so I could water test and tune this weekend. Thanks Neil. If everything goes well, i"ll finish the pump area, glue the hood seal and test it tomorrow.

Cables are really tight in front of waterbox, they are almost too short. This is because of the air tubes running in the nose ahead of the waterbox, everything has to wrap around the waterbox, not my favorite scenario. Once everything is in, motor compartment is snug, I glued pieces of hydroturf all over anything that might possibly rub. Air filter hits hood seal area on hull, I'm going to have to notch it so it doesnt rub.

Overall, I really like the looks, features and fit of the ski. Of course the ride is the most important factor, hopefully i'll know tomorrow.

Killer can't wait to hear how she rides. Hey don't know if I missed it, but I take it you are doing an internal fuel fill?

Would there be room for a limited chamber in there?

I picked up a TON of parts last night, one of them being a Factory B Pipe Limited.

Hoping to get something Frankenstein'd for Daytona.
