This is a smart move Nick. I put the stock waterbox back in all of my skis last year. And I agree with the other guys, X2's are the worst with AM waterboxes.

I'm runnin' dual straight pipes right out of my cyllinder and into twin 4 foot bong tubes that'll be attached to my hood. I'm gonna do bong hits of exhaust smoke while I'm in mid air and blast the panties off of any girl within 1/2 mile of the Makai...

just kiddin...my ski is actually very quiet.

Are they going to have you start up your ski at registration to see if it's too loud? will they have a decibel meter or just listen to it?

I think all x-metal waterboxes will not pass. If your making a long drive, I would invest in a stocker.
Mine has dual exhaust but is extremely quiet with the stocker

Yea lightweight hulls actually make limited setups with stock waterboxes kinda loud too.....nothing like what I have heard when I consider the loud skis I have heard........but louder though.

What about anybody who is running a Powerfactor pipe and cannot fit a waterbox in?

2 months+ is plenty of time to come up with a solution.

Like what? This is what I am working with...open to all opinions. My ski is fairly loud, not as loud as most I hear with front exhaust though, much different tone too. I have about 4" of freespace between the end of my pipe and my battery.

dump some of the pisser water into the exhaust after the pipe.

Done.

I have done eveything (that I can think of) to quite it down with the setup I have but I don't want to drive 1600 miles to have somebody tell me that I can't ride (even though it was previously stated they couldn't kick anybody out of the area, ie couchers).

Are you running a resonator of any kind?

Not possible, there is barely enough room between my carbs and the side of my hull to squeeze the rubber exhaust tube through. It runs off of my pipe, 4" of open space then right on top of my battery, 2" of open space, behind my carbs, 4" of open space then into the bulkhead.:17:
I have rear exhaust only and when its in the water it is fairly quiet.

Most hotels don't charge a cancellation fee if you cancel within 30 days.

I would assume it will be fine. I think Nick is talking about people who are extra obnoxious.....(front exhaust, x metal box and no water in it) If your ski is rear exhaust, it'll be quiet 90% of the time. At every freeride, there is always like 3 skis that just make your ears bleed.....

what about builidng a sleeve right after the exhaust hose connection that you can add some fittings to to dump water in there.

You mean right where the chamber hooks up to the rubber hose? There is a short sleeve like you are describing right there with a 3/8" cooling line feeding in right before it.

Yeah, After the fitting, create a water diffuser, that will help quiten it and not effect to much on the power stand point.
