4lb wall-mart battery?

Has anyone ever tried one of these? If so how does it work? I was thinking of trying one, and always throwing it on the battery charger after riding. Easy way to drop 8lbs in the B1.:Banane01:

If your doing it to drop 8lbs, dont bother. Do you believe 8lbs will make a difference on a B1?

Jog 2-3 miles a day for 1 month and loose 8lbs, you will feel better also.
I would not even bother with this battery, especially in a B1.

I do Jog, and at 6ft 175lbs, I realy dont need to lose any weight. I dont understand why you wouldnt think this would mak a difference????? Between the Battery, and my seat, that takes off 18lbs! If you could notice it in a SJ, why not a Blaster.

I probably wont notice the added power either.huh?

^^^^If you talking about losing weight yourself, go jogging with a trash bag over you with holes for you arms and head. Thats what my friend did for wrestling. I know it sounds crazy. Or just were sweats, and run. Pretty much just go sweat your arse off.lol

I've been running a 6 pound Odyssey PC310 for this season in my SJ w/Advent and so far, so good. It has less reserve and cranking amps than a PC625, but I can't complain, although I would not expect it to do well with total loss. Compare the specs of the PC310 with the Walmart battery and if they are in the ballpark, go for it.

I saw that Mark (Full Throttle) is running his full-sized Blaster battery at the bottom of the hull and offset to one side. It doesn't lighten the ski, but it helps with barrel rolls by changing the center of gravity of the ski. You might consider that also.

I ride surf so weight doesn't seem to be a big deal. It seems funny to me that you want to drop 8lbs on the ski. This is just my opinion. Water weighs 8lbs a gallon, I would say that there is atleast a gollon of water in and out of my ski at any time. Again this is just my opinion. I run an Odyssey would not compromise the superior power of this battery to save a few pounds.
I don't wan't to make the ski heavier, but when reinforcing, I reinforce so the ski is at its strongest, regardless of weight.

I wasn't saying you need to loose weight, the point was this: I would say my weight fluctuates <sp> prob 5lbs, and it seems that saving 8lbs doesn't seem like much.

preach it eddie.....dont skimp on the batt cracker, for the surf its not worth it..

Agreed. If you're primarily riding surf, I wouldn't compromise the battery either. With the ski that I have that lightweight battery in, I ride it on flat water most of the time and usually within swimming distance of my house:biggrin:

Wal Mart batteries blow. Yet I still contiue to use them and have one in my kawasaki right now. Though usually have to replace them at the beginning of each year. They give me lots of trouble. Specially recently one of them no longer had acid in it and wouldnt start. So I filled it up and charged it. Then when I got to the lake with it, battery wouldnt start the engine and I had to jump it with a working battery.

Yea, I just want to try if for flatwater. I realize in the surf, it realy wont make any difference. Another thing you guys may want to consider is that all off these 18lbs, Battery+ light seat. Are taken from the top of the ski.......meaning it will be less top heavy! It should also make it a little easier to board......though i have never had issues here, even in 6ft of surf.

I will have pics of the ski all together by next weeknd! I decided not to mod the hood yet, I realy dont think I could trim anough weight to make ity worth it.

Thats surf!:woot: I cant go to the surf everyday and expect waves! There is a huge lake that is 2 miles from where I keep the ski.:Banane01: That is why I am trying to make this blaster into a sick flatwater ski as well. I plan on getting a SJ within 2 weeks . I will be riding 4-5 days a week once I get my superjet.:haha: Its great to be young.
