Stick a yamaha motor in there and call it a day

To make it slower? My 800 with a pipe and flywheel puts out the same power as my friends 701 with pipe, compression, flywheel, porting, and MSD.

It would take a ton of modding to put a SJ motor in there, when there are great options to get more power out of his current set up...

Go Total loss & Mag Pump
DASA 1000cc cyllinder
Group K Cyllinder

Single carb would only loose power.

66E would only add weight.

I agree with those saying to get the new Dasa cylinder. Are your cases ported yet?

And if you really wanted more hit off the bottom you could always go total loss.

Yep.

66E in SJ hull
SXR 800 motor in lightened Trinity hull

Very similar....
My 66E in a stock SJ hull destroys his ski powerwise, the 66E would add a bit of weight but damn its cheap power. My entire motor setup cost less than a DASA cylinder, I have no idea why so many people bag on the 66E, maybe the other ones out there don't run right but my ski hits harder than any other I have ridden, including a flattop lamey PV motor. All I am saying is there is a reason SXR4ever put it on his list.

Not with a lightened hull...you wouldn't believe how much faster they are~!
I didn't really notice it, his ski rips and feels super light and flickable (handles different) but over his past setup it doesn't feel much faster.

Interesting....I'll have to try it out...The one I rode was not much of an improvement over a 760, but if your riding them back to back, you would know...whats on your 66E as far as mods?

I just think he can get more bang for the buck without having to do an entire Yamaha conversion into an SXR style hull (new electronics, glassing in new motor mounts, new pump, etc etc etc.......I think the DASA cyllinder and Total Loss would be ridiculous power.

SXR-FOREVER

Finally Flippin
hey sorry busy week.

Lets pretend I'm not made of money and the DASA cylinder would not be an option ANY time soon.

The 66e is what I really REALLY want after riding 'nubes. Incredible power at just a quick blip of the throttle. I have a conversion plate for putting the 66e in my ski so there is no glassing or anything...but the lack of a quiet pipe and the weight kinda kills that idea. Anyone have a good estimate on what a 66e with just a pipe would do for gas life with a sxr tank??

Is a mag pump worth the money or would the tbm pump cone do the same thing pretty much for alot less money and weight???

FLcracker - cases have not been ported - would that help low end??

Total loss would be a very good idea that I didn't think of...but how often does that battery have to be charged??? Rather like keeping the ski on the lift...

Is there a way to get the kawi port timing down to that of a yamaha or polaris motor?

I am no pro by any means, but I know ported cases makes a noticable difference in the yamaha motors. I am sure the kawi would be much the same.

I would give Kommander a call and ask Steve if it would be worth it. He is a pro with the kawi platforms.

I agree, Call Steve Webster, he knows those motors.

Gotta go with a Mag Pump if you want the speed.. Hurts to buy race gas but an advent, 220psi compression with that port job would make a wreckin' machine..

We also are building a stock stoke cylinder as well.
Brian

This sounds like a great option down the road......You will have to get all new yamaha electronics with that 66e also.

Actually, for right now adding total loss would be a HUGE difference in bottom end...also, what is your compression...maybe bump that up to 180?

My ski is hitting so hard on the bottom right now it hurts my arms...must be the flywheel, because I don't have 1/2 of what you do.
