First ever foothold install the other night. Looks like I used waaaaaay to much resin. Its thick, very thick. Wondering what the quickest way would be to uniformly knock it all down.
Let WolfChild get a hold of it...
This stuff sticks rather well...The tray was plenty rough. I ran over the whole thing with 80 grit
not true, the composite(combination) of resin and fiberglass is where the strength comes from.Resin= Strength
Fiber= Flexibility
To much resin= no flexibility= cracks on impact.
The ideal setup is minimal resin as far as i know. Use a roller and just keep rolling the resin around as it soaks in. The roller will help spread it out plus absorb any resin that is extra. The more glass you get down the better. Resin will be strong, but will crack and break to easy, plus its way heavy compared to properly done glass
Well I pretty much started from scratch today. Took a grinder with a 25 grit sanding disc to it. Took it off like butter but I still had to go at it for over half an hour (there is sooooo much dust in my garage) Resin was over a 1/4 in thick in certain places, I am retarded. Re-laid twice as much glass with a third the resin. Looks much better now. Gonna sand and turf later.
