Be careful putting them in. Take your time. Ground yourself out. Line them up nice and then click them in to place.
Memory is very sensitive to ESD due to the fact that there is no place for static to discharge.
I always unplug the machine and then hold the power button in to drain all reaming energy from the capacitors on the motherboard.
Oh an ditch your old stick(s) for sure!! And don't panic if you get a DOA stick. I get them often....from all manufacturers....just RMA it through Newegg and the next set will be fine.
