Got the exhaust tube glassed in. Lots of shaping to get the rail where I liked finished with a skim of filler. Leached some glass from Flash's resin lab which was kindly delivered by Wavehog(i love you guys):grouphug:

Glassed up the rail & the bottom using 4 layers 4oz glass & 1 layer 8oz twill. 2 layers 8oz on the sides. 1 week 1 rail. On to the other side....

Looking killer dude!!..........can't wait to try it out.

Are you leaving the edge sharp or rounding it out??

Leaving a sharper edge from the middle of the ski back. I'm thinking that will hold more water there and give a more positive pop when leaving the water compared to a rounder edge.

playing with rideplate shapes. Either round pin or swallow....

Damn! That is pretty radical... I hope it ends up performing how you hope for it to! Good luck, you have some serious balls to be chopping up that ski!

I do hope this works out like I imagine. My ski is a 04 and this is the 3rd chop. This shape is'nt very different than the last, but it is different.

Joe,
Looks a like a short board fish shape.. I used to surf and love fish shape boards... Wonder if the loose in that will bring over to ski.

Especially how your marking is on the plate.:cheer::icon16:

Man I seriously want to know more about how that rides. Forgive me now if i copy it completely.

I have a 96 I just started to cut in to today. If it doesn't sell on ebay I'm tinkerin.

I'd say start with the rounded one first.

Give me @ a month for a ride report. I'm going to try it out after the rails and tray are done. If I'm happy with that I have some things I'd like to change to the middle of the bottom.

before you hack up that plate make another one and then just try both back to back...

Yea... I'm gonna mold the longer version then I can cut down different shapes. Don't know if you noticed but that plate is going to be to short.

Started cutting the other side. Still need to hack some off the corners and remove the old rail.

Old rail on the left with the rear shortened -3 1/2. Width and wide point are around the same. The new rear is narrower at the corners and longer at the ride plate. My plate will end pretty close to stock.

I also need to figure out what to do with my scupper.

Lot of work but little progress... Removed the old rail from the left side. Made a flange for my scupper, added foam and have that shaped close to ready to glass.
