Well thank you for helping me realize that I am going to try even harder to build the ultimate x-2 without a yami mill in it lol I know what you are saying and I am going to do a sn this winter to see what it's all about but no way is it going to be a x-2 yami
Is that sucker going to rock on snow as well?:highhorse:

You guys know what I mean.. I know you can get serious power of of a lot of things, but the obvious, most practical solution is the Yamaha!!
I'm sure if you had a machine shop, and the cash to do it, you can make anything with the right power and rpm range RIP in anything you want to make it fit in.
For me, Yamaha in my X2 is the solution.

And just think, that lil 650 was all it took to convince......:smashfreakB:

That, and a ride on Chic's 5 mil team scream stroker. I know the potential the Yamaha has. I'm sure that was a mild ski in comparison.. Changed my attitude toward ski's.

I have yet to ride anything but a ported motor, nothing exotic.

Man if I had the resources to do something extreme I would LOVE to..
The yamaha is just almost within my reach, so thats how I went. I can't really even afford a decent Yamaha powerplant, barely scratched up the Kawi I had. However I KNOW I can't afford anything crazy.
I think the absolute best solution to any of these ideas is grinding, reinforcing, and glassing in for whatever engine you desire. I think you can make just about anything work if you go this route. No adapters, bedplates, etc.. Stick with what works, in this case the stock yamaha stuff works GREAT! Proven setup. Everyone rocks it!
I really wish I could do something wild. Until then, Kawiha is as close as it gets for me. Someday I'll have me something crazy.. Someday..

Absolutely not my friend! I haven't been riding long either, in fact I just bought my very first ski last summer. It was an X2, and I've owned a couple since then. I've gone balls out as fast, and much as possible since! I really love seeing someone like yourself dive into the sport. Thats what it needs! If I only had your fabrication experience! Hopefully some day I will. Until then, I'll remain a broke, hard working dude who's trying to juggle bills, job, wedding, and my extreme addiction of getting upside down on my ski. :beerchug:
Seriously though, your work is impressive! I love the parts you've made for yourself. That being said, I can only imagine what you WILL make in the years to come.
I wish money weren't an object. I have so many ideas in my head it's crazy. I just can't put any of them to use. Hell I can't even buy the basic stuff almost every free rider has on there ski at this point. I went ape sh it last year building that Kaw, and hopefully I'll be able to do the same this year and end up with a ski to be envious over. This thing I trashed this year was nothing more than a learning experience for me, as it was the first ski I can really say a BUILT. Learned a lot, and the next will be insane!
Also, same here with the expressing via typing. Sometimes the beer gets the best of me, and it's already hard to tell when someone is BS'ing, or seriously being an ass without seeing their face. I'm always bs'ing! I really do love most of the guys in these forums. We're all here for the same reason. To improve our selves, via the advice of others. And to show off here and there..:439:

Your so right. I make a decent amount for my age/experience, yet I never have enough, somehow.. Haha. Keep up the good work buddy. Can't wait to see what you have in store!
As for me, hopefully a decent 701, and lots of barrel rolls and backies, on a hull that won't shatter every time I under-rotate!

Will, convince him he needs to make Daytona......
That was my first ever freeride, and I wouldn't change it for the world. I WILL be at the next one, regardless.
I can post endless links to vids! It was one of the best times of my life, and now that I know a lot of you guys, it's going to be so much better.
You and Jeff need to hook up and do the cross country venture. Hell hook up with the pismo crew, Cuong told me they drove something like 40 hours straight to make it? What dedication!!
Just hope on a plane, I'll pick you up at the airport, and take you to the beach. From there, you can handle the rest! Nothing but good dudes and good times! Oh yeah, and hopefully my Yamaha X2. :Banane35:

I am not drinking the Yamaha Koolaid either,I have lost count of the number of Yamaha cases and cylinders I have seen destroyed over the years ,I am not talking cracked ,I mean completely destroyed, not to mention the engines that came in with the rear crank seals hanging out,I lost count on that one years ago.

I also am not running a Kawi in my ski.I do have several others that I may or may not run Kawis in,haven't decided yet.Yeah I know swimming against the current ,thats ok though as I don't see (EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING IT) as being a good reason to do anything. My ski freaking rips, the short block is bone stock only bolt ons,I havent even started to tap the potential of this engine package yet,it will only get better and faster from here on out.Next year is going to be a really good year!

Like I said I wish I had the resources to do something crazy. One of these days I'll be trying something crazier.
