If its REALLY blowing from any direction except maybe South... then Lake Erie will kick up stuff to ride...

It doesn't help that its the shallowest of the Great Lakes... It limits the max wave height and allows for lots of chop from the harmonics...

how ever if being the shallowest limits wave hts to 14-16 footers
thats good by me

Actually, I think it being shallow actually helps. The waves kick up quicker and it doesn't take as long of sustained winds for them to build. The reason they are better from the NE is that they have a couple hundred miles to travel before they get here. (I don't really see any problem with the waves getting big. I have been in 16 footers and that is plenty big...we just don't always get the winds to have them build big.)....especially this year.

No arguments from me... :beerchug:
That is basically what I ment... Since it its shallow it only takes a little wind to get it kicked up into chop... If the winds aren't right then the harmonics of the shallow water can kill the waves quickly and or make it a choppy sloppy mess. If the winds are right on the money then it an kick up to killer 12-16 fters in no time clean and sweet... But the shallow bottom keeps it from getting much bigger than that usually... That is fine with me...

I love Lake Erie and wouldn't give it up for n e thing.

The waves make it all worth it! Salt water is different...it is much more buoyant. Your ski sits higher in it....it usually takes me an hour or so just to get used to the water! You can get more air off of waves than in fresh water.

man i havent rode erie in weeks... i miss the old girl...if i can leave work early im down

Bruda you have no idea... I haven't rode since the last time we rode... Its all I can think about... I have been hold up in hotels for the last week for Hurricaine Ike... I see monster awesome surf everywhere I go and there is nothing I can do about it. Work hard on Thursday... I will call you when I get close to town...

I'm hoping to be in the water by then... all depends on if the pole shows tomorrow and installs with no glitches.
:fingersx: :fingersx:

Yesterday they had us get up at dawn and haul @$$ down to the dock from San Antonio... only to have us sit on the boat at the dock all day long. It was too rough for the boat to go out and to windy for a helicopter... so we got put up in yet another hotel... a nice one this time though.

Spent the night... in the hot-tub...:trink26::friday:

Then we got up at dawn again today spent the whole day waiting again until finally we went out. So now I am back on the rig for all of about 16 hrs if all goes well...

The Plan...
In about 10 hrs I should be getting lowered down to the crew boat for the 3 hr boat ride to the dock... Then 26 hrs of driving and 1600 miles... I should be coming into town with 3 things on my mind...:sneaky:

My my ski and stuff should be ready and waiting for me at the shop... I might have to just gas it up and go... I will be calling u guys ready to ride around 3-4 pm Thursday...:arms:

I just realized I forgot to give you guys my email. Let me know when you are all planning to ride. :beerchug: Need to get some more video before winter.
