It looks like Ike blew in and out of here pretty quickly...I don't think we are gonna get anything too significant in Cleveland.... maybe 2-4's tomorrow.

Anybody else getting anything? We got ripped off this time in Cleveland...if IKE would have went through on the other side of us we would have gotten pounded with waves.

Wind right now.. 36mph with 55mph gusts from the SOUTH . Wrong way. All it's good for is taking out power lines and knocking down trees.

mwhahaha...

:sad2:After spending 3 days in blistering heat here in San Antonio I am headed back to the rig in the morning... Glad to hear that I am not missing much back home...

Bummer about the carnage and power outages though... did it get you? it got my shop (power) in West Park and my partner's house (power) in Lakewood... He said that trees were bent over touching the ground with the winds in Lakewood...

Would have been awesome to have our weather / web cam station up and running at Edgewater...
bummer about the waves... but I am doing the wave dance right now...:Banane57:
There WILL be waves and we WILL ride when I get home starting Thurday...

Regulators mount up...

We actually got a killer deal out of it. yesterday was the coolest day i've ever seen on Lake Erie.

We went out around noon, and from the start it looked kinda flat - being more of a SSW wind. we hit a place we call "the zone" which is very shallow but usually has some small surf to play in. after about 30 minutes we saw something on the lake I've only seen in the ocean. we had actual sets of waves come in about every 15 minutes or so... and they were 5 - 6 foot with killer intervals. it was sick. super clean, no chop and very peaky waves. we had an absolute blast. too bad Brian (proformance1) was stuck in Denver... he missed out.

this morning on my way by the lake to work it looks like we still have 3 - 5 foot waves, wind is gone so there is no chop. i might try to get out again.

DJ - you need to get up to this end of the lake...

My parents shed, where I wrench on my ski in the winter, got hit by a big ol tree from IKE. Rotten bastard hurricane didn't even give us any waves here!

The mural is on the back and faces the woods. It looks really cool in person. Give me a call when you get in town and we can discuss what you want to do for your ski project!

i didn't see it when I woke up yesterday, since it was dark, but I have about 4 pine trees in the back yard that came down and a few very large limbs on a willow tree that are severly damaged. I spent about 3 hours last night cleaning some of it up, and have it about 1/2 done.

that was bad enough, i can't imagine what the people of Texas are going through right now.

:swordfight:I didn't say it wasn't cool... Must be your handy work? I only meant that the block building looks like a compound compared to a shed, and the sunny mural ruins the compound feel of it... oh well lol

Fo sho I will be talking to you about the ski project as well as a few other ideas I have including our Edgewater Park Project...

Plan to ride Thursday... though:djsmilie:

It's pretty rough down here damage all along the eastern portion of the state from the coast up to Oklahoma. Houston and Galveston are hit bad...

I have been down here riding the whole thing out from the begining. The original storm track had it going right over top the Oil rig I work on. So we evacuated to Houston, then the storm turned. It basically went right over where the rig used to be. We just moved the rig 3 days before the storm... to start a new job / well.

So we evacuated Houston and went to San Antonio... remember the Alamo! We didn't get much of anything in San Antonio but we had plenty of evacuees with us. It took us 3 days after the storm was passed to get back to the dock. It was underwater... We finally got back here today with no damage to the rig, but the waves moved the rig maybe 25 ft.

There are couple rigs that are lost, a couple got loose and floated away. The company that I am contracted to work for had only one rig that was affected it was moved 60 ft thats it.

I will try and update w/ some pictures when I have a faster internet... But I will be busy riding when I get home

That is his compound but he is a peaceful cult leader and enjoys the sun and painting.

He has only killed a few people and he swears that it was Gods will for him to knock up Kelly and Jen.
