I'm collecting parts now and then I'm gonna mock it up on a spare hull then eventually put it in my X2. 701 , midbearing and pump , all yamaha. I'm going to try and mount the motor onto an aluminum bedplate.

the shell is at the body shop. I think it will be done next week. then we start pulling parts. :bananajump:

Really any conversion hood has my interest. The ability to switch back to a pole ski makes it all worth the while!

I LOVE the idea...and havent given up doing it yet. But the only problem with that is getting the 144mm pump in the FX, and opening up the pump intake is ALOT ALOT of work to do right. Then you have to tackle the fixed steering part...lol The SJ platform is plug and play. Maybe waterdawg would sell just the bottom deck of the F1.....
To the original poster, installing new aluminum mounts for the SJ motor is definetly the way to go.

If i didn't have sooo much tied up in Kawie parts, I would jump ship to Yamaha's. On ride on YZ250FPilot's white 97 SJ with a ported 701, B Pipe, and head would convince anyone.
For me, I think the bedplate swap would be best for me into my spare X2.

some one send me a pole and sj pole bracket along w/ a fx-1 hood and i should be able to deliver a finished product to the daytona ride
