homemade ski stand

I like the full pvc. It's light, so if you need to throw it in your truck, you can just sling it around.:Eyecrazy:

thats what i like about mine. This thread inspired me to put some bunk carpet i had left over on mine.

the zip ties are just there until the glue dries :-> I tried stapling, but that failed of course..

its not too grippy? and what'd u use to hold it on to the pvc?

its very grippy thats what I love about it I don't have to worry about it sliding off with a wave. I used contact cement just like you would for the turf on the ski. 2 seasons so far and the turf is still on the stand

Pvc (white pipe) works good but Abs (black pipe) is quite a bit stronger i would suggest Abs altho it is a bit more pricey!
I used ABS to build my first stand, that thing was stout, I wouldn't ever use pvc, not that there is anything wrong with it-- ABS is just superior

I remember the two inch long sweeps were pretty expensive...

Schedule 40 PVC is pretty thick and stout. Use Christies Red Hot Blue Glue, to glue it together. The Class 200 PVC is weak sauce. Here's a couple pics of the beach stand for the SJ. I got lucky on shop stands. A buddie gave me one for couches and another buddie gave me one for standups.
